We are assisting our Client in recruiting for an Accountant who is organized, efficient and has a high level of accuracy.
Accountant can expect to handle communications with vendors, clients, and internal departments, assist with inventory, database, and record maintenance, prepare financial reports, issue checks and making deposits, and generally ensure that the office operations are running smoothly.
Must be professional and courteous with strong computer skills and a thorough understanding of accounting and financial principles.
Must be a skilled multi-tasker with excellent time management, computer, and communication skills.
Incumbent should understand and abide by all accounting procedures and principles and have a commitment behaving ethically in the workplace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintaining bookkeeping records, processing journal entries, categorising transactions, updating general ledger accounts and ensuring accuracy – full bookkeeping function to trial balance Reconciling all general ledger accounts monthly/annually Recording of monthly amortisation schedules.
Oversee AP and AR departments; track outstanding invoices, manage customer collections and ensure timely payment; manage vendor invoices and make timely payments according to agreed-upon terms; ensure compliance with company debt collection policies and invoicing; negotiating with customers in when non-payment occurs and is escalated to FM.
Conducting credit checks on new and potential customers.
Maintaining Petty Cash Track and maintain fixed asset register and wear and tear schedule.
Prepare audit packs and assisting with audit documentation and queries, liaising with the internal and external auditors Compile, analyze, and report financial information to management, credit bureaus and government agencies.
Ensure effective and efficient filing of documentation Assist with processing of payments Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned.
Foster a culture of teamwork, and mentorship.
Support those reporting to this role with guidance, information, and mentorship Oversee performance QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS An appropriate Bachelor's degree in the field of Accounting and or Auditing.
An appropriate post degree qualification in the field of Accounting/Auditing will be an added advantage Comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
Ethical behaviour when dealing with sensitive financial information.
High level of accuracy and efficiency.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Courteous, professional manner, strong customer service skills.
Computer literacy and strong typing skills, experience with accounting software may be required.
Attention to detail.
Willingness to comply with all company and government regulations.
