The accountant is responsible for day-to-day operations of the finance department. The role requires a skilled ability to understand and operate the overall finance function at a demanding level. This role is vital to the finance function as it is the key focal point of the company's finances and holds major responsibility in the preparation of management deadlines. The accountant will be responsible to the Financial Manager and the General Manager who will review and authorise most job tasks.Duties & Key Responsibilities of the RoleReviewing the processing of bank statementsReviewing the processing of Petty Cash transactionsReviewing the raising of creditor invoicesReviewing the raising of creditor return & debitsReviewing the creation of creditors reconsMaintaining the supplier aged analysis and updating the cash flow appropriatelyPassing various types of journals when requiredEnsuring that 'match-open' items are applied correctlyLoading payments onto the banking systemWeeklyReviewing the bank pack file before submission to the directorEnsuring the GRN Accrual account balancesReviewing the chart of accounts to ensure there is no incorrect allocationsMonthlyProcessing VAT and working paper filesSubmitting the VAT calculation and releasing paymentReviewing the creation of creditor reconsReviewing other month-end reconsProcessing the payroll journalsSubmitting the monthly PAYEMaintaining the donation schedule and submitting the monthly pay-out list to Al ImdaadReviewing and validating agency fees, releasing payment and passing the relevant journalsMaintaining the VAT 12 month forecastPreparing the monthly management packAdhoc DutiesLiaising with external consultantsLiaising with suppliersLiaising with the external auditorsJob TypePermanentPayR20000,00 - R25000,00 per monthAbility to commute/relocate:Springfield, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:Bachelors (Preferred)Experience:accountant: 3 years (Required)
