Accountant

Our Freight Client is currently looking for an Accountant to join their team based in Durban. This is an AA/ EE Position Remuneration: R550k -R600k per annum (Depending on experience)this includes bonus, Medical Aid and Provident fund Requirements:Bcomm Degree/Bcomm Accounting or SimilarCA(SA) advantageousStrong IFRS knowledge advantageousReports To: Finance Manager/Finance Director Systems: The below systems experience would be advantageous:SAGE 300 PeopleSage AccpacSage ESSK2 WorkflowIDU Budget toolMain Duties: Capture month end journal entries and asset disposals requestsReconciliationsAll Debtors and creditors functionReview of monthly income statement results and analysis of monthly income statement movementsAdhoc queries from the finance managerPerform stock takes on an ad hoc basis and monthly stock reconciliations and investigation of differencesPreparation of quarterly reporting schedules for audit committee, BBB-EE, Sustainability and Risk reportingPrepare detailed income statement and balance sheet reporting schedulesPreparation of quarterly regional forecast and of annual regional budgetLiaise with internal and external auditors as requiredEnsure that all purchasing procedures and authority limits set out in the approval framework are adhered toReview purchase order accruals weekly and follow up on outstanding itemsPrepare daily cash flow reportingCollaborate and work closely with the Head Office finance to drive change and improvement and train the Regional Finance teamRevenue reporting and reviewing of disbursements ageingEvaluating financial operations to recommend best practices, identify issues, strategize solutions, and help the organization run efficiently.Offering guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximizationMonitoring procurement spend and BBB-EE related performancePlease take note: if you have not been contacted within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
