DescriptionAccountantRole Location: South AfricaDepartment: FinanceEmployment Type: FulltimeThe Role & Key Responsibilities:Due to the continued expansion of Apex Group, the finance department is actively seeking to recruit an Accountant to join the team. The accountant will be responsible for a number of entities within the group. The Accountant will report to the finance manager.Preparation, review and reconciliation of monthly accruals and prepaymentsMaintaining of fixed asset registersPreparation of monthly bank reconciliationsPreparation and assistance in the monthly payroll processIssuing of client invoices, maintaining of aged receivables and related mattersPreparation and reconciliation of all revenuePreparation of cash flows and related analysisPreparation and assistance in periodic VAT returnsExecuting the month end process leading to the submission of accurate monthly management accounts in a timely mannerAssisting the finance manager with the monthly analysis of variancesPreparation of reporting and reconciliations for submission to the group's Financial Planning & Analysis teamAssistance in capital adequacy requirements and other regulatory reportingDrafting and assisting in the preparation of financial statementsSupporting, Co-ordinating and Assisting with the annual audits and liaising with auditorsAssisting the finance manager with any ad-hoc requestsSkills Required:A University degree in Accountancy or equivalent/Final stages of ACCA qualificationAn ability to work to and meet agreed deadlinesAbility to work under pressureCompetence in Excel, general IT, and accounting packagesA minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar roleExperience in audit would be ideal, but not necessaryWhat you will get in return:A genuinely unique opportunity to be part of an expanding large global business;Working with a strong and dynamic Finance teamTraining and development opportunities.Exposure to all aspects of the business, cross-jurisdiction and to working with senior management directly.Additional information:We are an equal opportunity employer and ensure that no applicant is subject to less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, gender identity, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, responsibilities for dependants, physical or mental disability.
