Job DescriptionA Financial Advisory & Lending company is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant.This is a full-time in-office position, based in Cape Town City central.KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBank and CashBank ReconciliationCash Flow ProjectionsDebtors and CreditorsMonthly account reconciliations and paymentsJournals to account for provisions and accruals where necessaryCapturing invoices and receiptsResolving queriesOther / MonthlyReconcile balance sheet accounts to supporting schedulesMonthly Journals to reconcile balance sheet: shareholders' interest; provisions; tax; depreciation, etc.VAT: recons & submissionsPAYE: recons & submissionsCompliance: Workmen's compensation, Employment Equity etc.PayrollCapture monthly payrollEMP201 Recons and submissionsEMP501 ReconsBi-annual and annual IRP5 submissionsReporting and MonitoringCompile monthly management report and shareholders' pack in Excel for various entitiesCompile monthly reporting in Excel to fundersMonitor budgets and cashflowAnnual audit preparationsRequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCEEducationA SAIPA completed articles is desirable, orA B.Comm degree with accounting or similar degreeExperienceA minimum of 3 to 5 years accounts experienceSpecific KnowledgeAdvanced Excel is non-negotiable (a test will be given)Experience working in Xero and Sage Payroll but not a mustExcellent knowledge of accounting principlesGeneralStrong numeracy skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate well with a variety of audiences.Able to respond to queries and deal with complaints and manage difficult situations and personalities in a calm and rational manner.An analytical thinker, able to interrogate information critically to resolve issues and respond to queries in a productive manner.A confident team collaborator who is able to work autonomously while maintaining open channels of communication with a team.A systems-oriented person who is able to multitask and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.Proactive self-starter, someone who uses their initiative to ensure that service and performance are always to a high standard.Accountable, responsible and reliable with strong attention to detail.Trustworthy and reliable with the ability to manage confidential information in a discrete and sensitive manner.Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to assess and improve processes.
