COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Our client is a well-known bulk food industry supplier based in Cape Town and they are looking for a highly skilled Accountant with a strong background in import/export operations and foreign exchange (Forex). Ideal candidates will also have experience with refrigerated reefer consignments.
JOB DESCRIPTION: MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and oversee all accounting activities related to import and export transactions Handle foreign exchange transactions and currency conversions Prepare and maintain financial records, including invoices, sales orders, and shipment schedules Collaborate with the Accounts Department to ensure accurate invoicing and financial reporting Coordinate with freight forwarding agents to provide clearing instructions and manage logistics for refrigerated reefer consignments Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure compliance with international trade regulations Assist in budgeting and forecasting for import/export operations Invoice customers, send statements, and issue payment reminders Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their inquiries and resolving any issues promptly EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Matric Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Proven experience in accounting, specifically within the import/export industry Pastel Partner – NON Negotiable Strong understanding of foreign exchange transactions and currency management Experience with refrigerated reefer consignments is highly desirable Proficiency in accounting software and Excel Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Effective communication and relationship-building skills TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION, PLEASE FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW: https://www.careers-page.com/the-globevest-group-2/job/QVX4V388
