Reporting to the Business Officer / Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for Processing Accounts Payable Invoices, Preparing Purchasing Orders, applying the generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasks, processing reimbursements, verifying Inventory counts, Ordering office supplies, responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role, checking that proper approvals are obtained prior to transactions and many other duties.Your responsibilities will include:Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasksChecking that proper approvals are obtained prior to processing transactionsMonitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocationsPreparing and/or processing journal entriesLiaising with clients and vendors to resolve minor complaints and address issuesResponding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriateEssential Qualifications:Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum three years of related experience in clerical/accounting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Financial Information System (SAP).Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy under pressure of high volume of transactions.Ability to interpret and apply complex accounting principles.An ability to organize, work well under pressure and execute a wide variety of complex projects simultaneously and to manage conflicting priorities within required timelines.Very strong customer service orientation and has the highest degree of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.Ability to work effectively independently and as an integral member of a team.Highly detail oriented, excellent judgment, initiative and decision-making skills.To be successful in this role you will be:AccountableAdaptableMeticulousOrganizedTeam playerClosing Date: 10/02/2024, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - ContinuingSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 09 -- $66,715. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $85,319.
