The accountant will support the Finance Business Partner.
The incumbent will fulfil crucial accounting duties and provide oversight of other finance resources. The extra capacity and oversight at a senior level is very much needed and provides added succession planning options within the team. The role also diversifies the risk of single point dependencies and spreads core processes and tasks like revenue assurance, banking, oversight and signoff on key processes.
Financial Management Assist with financial records in accurate and effective manner in accordance with accounting standards and proceduresComply with internal controls that ensure accurate record keeping and the safe guarding of assets.
Make and implement recommendations for improvements were appropriateEnsure that the principles of good corporate governance are applied at all timesAssist with clean and effective annual auditEnsure adherence to Group policies and proceduresIdentify, recommend solutions and implement improvements to processes and procedures including appropriate documentationFacilitate cash flow and cash flow forecastingFacilitate effective cost measurement and controlAssist with financial analysis and insight for consideration in decision-makingAssist with analysis and management accounting reporting to aid decision-making, new business acquisition, pricing and profitability reviews.Assist with the divisions Cash Flows, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Reporting, Management Packs, Budgets, Forecasts and Audit.Financial Reporting Assist GM Head of Finance to effective and timeous production of monthly management pack and presentation for submission to groupDraft present monthly Branch-, Africa Reporting unpack analysis to GM Head of FinanceEffective and timeous production of internal monthly reporting at all levels requiredEnsure that the GM and Head of Finance has all required information and explanations for the monthly reviewAssist with submissions for Monthly Review PackBudgeting, Forecasting and Annual Business plan Assist with a full bottom-up budget and consolidate into the divisions annual business planHighlight risks in respect of the achievement of the business plan.Human Resource Management Co-manage the financial department, promoting the achievement of planned team objectives and targets by ensuring that the finance team has a high performance cultureEnsure that training and development needs are identified and actionedContribute to a pro-active environment where the managers and subordinates take responsibility for resultsEnsure team diversity is embraced and that transformation is pro-actively drivenQualification:
Relevant Financial qualification: B.Com / Degree
Experience and Skills:
3 - 5 years' financial experienceAdvanced ExcelFinancial- and staff Management would be advantageous
