ob Summary:We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic financial firm in Newlands, Cape Town.
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
This role requires a proactive individual who can manage financial records accurately and provide valuable insights to support our financial decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights for management decisions.Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including preparation and submission of VAT returns and other tax-related documentation.Audit Support: Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits, assisting auditors as needed.Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and reporting to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.Efiling / SARS: VAT Submissions, Payments, Disputes, Complaints, VAT Registrations & de- registrationsAccount Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, supplier statements, and inter-company accounts.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting functions and implement best practices.Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure seamless financial operations.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., PASTEL, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Additional Requirements:Must have own transport for commuting to work.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Benefits:Competitive salary.Opportunity for professional growth and development.A supportive and collaborative work environment.If you are a motivated and skilled accountant looking to advance your career in a thriving financial firm, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
