DDG is looking to hire a staff accountant to carry out the accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of financial transactions for the City of St. George.
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare assigned income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and various other accounting statements and reports.Analyze financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.Review and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.Coordinate accounting matters with other departments.Utilizes computer to input, retrieve and/or display accounting information.

Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.Highly proficient with accounting software.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.Three to five years of accounting experience required.Strong verbal and written communication skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Consistently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.Must be able to travel to various offices.EEO STATEMENT:DDG is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
