Internal Management AccountantWe are in search of a full-time Internal Management Accountant who is qualified and experienced to lead the Finance Department and its team members within a dynamic and fast-growing UK-based accountancy practice.If you're passionate about numbers and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! As a Management Accountant, you'll be responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at ensuring the financial health and success of the accounting practice.Basic training and guidance will be provided to ensure alignment with the firm's accounting practices and culture.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:The Internal Management Accountant aims to assist the Head of Finance to provide timely, accurate information to the members of our management team. The role will consist of:Management Accounts ResponsibilityAssisting in overseeing financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.Ensuring accurate revenue recognition in compliance with company and accounting standards.Conducting monthly reconciliation of designated balance sheet accounts.Reviewing and managing accounts receivable effectively.Controlling payables to mitigate company risk and reduce overheads.Producing precise financial reports within specified deadlines.Identifying, investigating, and influencing problem areas to improve the results of the practice by analysing financial results and trends.Monitoring and forecasting cash flows and predicting future trends.Maintaining and supporting key internal controls effectively.Keeping track of the approval process and monitoring actual expenditure vs. approved expenditure.Being responsible for the fixed asset register.Considering new processes to allow more accurate information to be given to our management team in a more time-efficient way.Credit Control ResponsibilityWorking in the credit control section of the department.Ensuring the swift collection of monies owed to the practice.Working with clients to negotiate payment terms that are mutually beneficial and help facilitate timely payments.Dispute resolutions on invoices raised.Taking the most appropriate and necessary actions to keep bad debts as low as possible.Supporting the client-facing team of the practice to enable them to focus on client work with minimal involvement required of them on debt collection.Debt collection experience for complex client situations.Assisting with any legal action required to be taken.Preparation of legal documentation for court cases.Overseeing overall debt collection, advising the senior team on appropriate next steps in collecting their client's outstanding debt.Reporting to management on outstanding issues, whilst highlighting potential debtor problems.All candidates must have:Five or more years of experience within the finance department or similar.Experience in budgeting procedures, financial reporting including Tax and VAT, and cost analysis.Key requirements include being commercially sound, deadline-driven, and having attention to detail.A passion for implementing and maintaining continuous system-driven improvements.In-depth understanding of operational finance.Desired Experience & QualificationThe ideal candidate must have:Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent).Completed articles or in-service training.CGMA/CIMA qualification will be preferable.Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably from a professional finance services area.Hardworking, honest, self-motivated, and disciplined, able to work under extreme pressure.Office Management skills and ability to oversee a finance team.Professional and empathetic people skills.Ability to follow and improve a documented systemised process.Package & RemunerationR40,000 – 45,000 per month depending on qualification and required experience.Monday – Friday – 37.5 hours per week.The role is based in Glen Ashley, Durban North.
