An astute accounting firm is seeking a qualified, skilled, and dedicated individual to join our team as an Accountant.A leading accounting firm, renowned for its commitment to excellence and precision in financial services, is looking for an accountant that has multiple client or group accounting experience.Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey Duties and Responsibilities – Key Performance Indicators:Supervise and initiate the processing of client information, cheques, receipts, sales invoices, and purchase invoices.Perform bank reconciliations.Process and reconcile Petty Cash and cash control accounts.Maintain a fixed asset register.Prepare general journals – e.g. depreciation, provisions, interest, salaries, stock, etc.Process journal entries e.g. new instalment sale agreements, interest on borrowings, provisions, accruals of income and expenses, bad debts, etc.Reconcile debtors and creditors statements.Ensure correct accounting treatment on disposal of assets (property, plant & equipment) and investments, and calculate taxation on capital gains/losses.Analyse the resulting trial balance for mistakes/deviations and discuss the results with the client.Conduct analytical review of AFS – GP%, Inventory days, Creditors days, Debtors days.Produce a draft set of financials.Prepare the notes to financial statements.Identify provisions and contingent liabilities.Calculate the tax liability for sole proprietors, individuals, close corporations, trusts, small business corporations, and partnerships.Reconcile input/output VAT to monthly trial balance.Compile and discuss monthly management accounts with the client.ONLY APPLY IF YOU LIVE IN CENTRAL OR SOUTHERN PARTS OF CAPE TOWN OR SURROUNDING AREAS.Desired Experience & QualificationRequirements:A good understanding of accounting with at least 3 years of experience.A degree in accounting will be beneficial.Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Pastel, etc).Driver's Licence with own transport to see clients if necessary.Please only apply if you have worked with multiple clients or multiple subsidiaries.
