Job PurposeWe are seeking an Account Manager to join the Vector Logistics Division. The role will be based in Gauteng and will report to the Customer Executive. The Account Manager will manage the relationship with key principals to ensure accounts are retained and that day-to-day operational queries are managed effectively. The role aims to help grow business in the principal/customer channel through expansion of services to the customer base, maintain profitability of key accounts, and drive supply chain efficiencies to the benefit of both the customer and Vector, ensuring the establishment of long-term strategic partnerships.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute strategic account plans.Set strategy for individual customers based on group and customer objectives.Obtain sign off across the business on customer strategy.Implement key KPIs in line with strategy.Set key KPIs for customers in line with business strategy.Review customer KPIs monthly ensuring customer and Vector compliance to key KPIs.Drive opportunities to build strategic partnerships through the identification of opportunities for collaboration.Manage internal business functions against agreed KPIs.Manage customer queries and concerns as and when they occur.Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams.Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within key accounts, introducing new products or services, and exploring ways to increase the principals/customers' spend with your organization.Meet or exceed sales targets assigned to your key accounts.Keep abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities.Work cross-functionally with supply chain to deliver efficiencies through negotiation with customers on agreed efficiencies.Build relationships between Supply Chain and the customer to ensure that the customer's Supply Chain is optimized.Actively drive the S&OP process with the principal to manage key cost drivers such as stock cover and SKU cover.Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics.Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the JobBachelor's Degree or similar.3 years account management experience preferably in an FMCG environment.5+ years supply chain experience.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels.Experience in sales and providing solutions based on customer needs.Ability in problem-solving and negotiation.
