SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.SACAP is looking to employ an Academic Support Advisor for the Cape Town Campus. This role will provide a full range of academic support and development services to ensure students are empowered to realise their academic success. The role will also connect students' academic interests with their personal and career ambitions. This role strongly liaises with the Student Administration team, the Academic team and reports directly to the Academic Support Manager. Responsibilities:Duties include but are not limited to:Providing academic support and development to SACAP's students;Acting as a point of contact for all academic support and development needs;Responding to and resolving student queries within thestipulated time frames;Involved in termly orientation per new cohort;Monitoring student academic performance and engagement;Tracking and documenting national academic support and development metrics;Study plans and career guidance;Academic one-on-one counsellingAwareness / advocacy campaigns re: academic issues;Facilitating peer support and peer-assisted learning;Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention;Utilising SACAP's Student Management System in order to provide expert guidance to SACAP students.Qualifications and Experience:A minimum of an Honours degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology or Coaching; or at least 5-years' experience in a cognate fieldwith high academic resultsAdvanced computer literacy skills, including online systems2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education.Ability to observe, monitor, collect, and record student data.Knowledgeable and passionate about SACAP and its offeringsHighly developed relationship building / interpersonal skillsPersonal Attributes: Enthusiasm for Higher Education in South Africa, particularly in the Private Higher Education sector (PHEI)A passion for academic supportResponsible, reliable and purpose driven in their approachSelf-motivated and holds themselves to a standard of excellence when completing tasksIs flexible and adaptable where needed to achieve resultsDisplays high integrity in all situationsEmpatheticIs diplomatic, professional and person-centred in their interactionsThis role reports directly to the Academic Support Manager and will work closely and collaboratively with the broader national student support and development teams.Operating Hours:This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:Monday to Thursday: 08:30am to 17:00pmFriday: 08:30am to 16:00pm*Note that you will be required to administer various student support webinars during the evenings, and/or attend Open Days from time to time, and therefore flexible hours do apply*Please upload a copy of your Identity Document and your Curriculum Vitae along with your application.Applications close on Monday 17 June, 17:00pm.#J-18808-Ljbffr
