OISE is committed to enhancing the social, economic, political and cultural well-being of individuals and communities through leadership in teaching, research and advocacy.The Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education (LHAE) at OISE is a dynamic and inclusive learning community comprised of scholars focused on educational leadership and administration, policy and change, social justice and community engagement.LHAE offers three graduate programs: Adult Education and Community Development, Educational Leadership and Policy, and Higher Education.Your opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, Departmental Academic Operations & Administrative Services, the Academic Programs Coordinator provides oversight and leads support for LHAE's graduate programs. The incumbent is responsible for program development, strategic input, and functional direction to ensure that all academic operations of LHAE are implemented in a proactive, professional, collegial, and knowledgeable manner.Your responsibilities will include:Overseeing day-to-day operational needs and service delivery requirements of programsPlanning and implementing academic and instructional program scheduling for the departmentKeeping well-informed on changes to courses, program requirements, policies and proceduresDetermining logistical details required for the execution of admissions processesAdvising students on financial aid matters, bursaries, budgeting and personal financial managementAnalyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvementsBuilding and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importancePlanning and estimating financial resources required for programs and/or projectsEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum five (5) years of recent and related experience providing program administration for a graduate program in a post-secondary environment.Demonstrated experience providing academic advising to current and prospective graduate students.Experience working directly with students to provide program and student services information.Experience providing program administration including administering fee deferrals and course evaluations.Experience analyzing and making recommendations on awards and scholarships.Experience administering the graduate admissions process.Experience advising faculty on appropriate graduate academic guidelines and procedures.Experience developing and delivering student recruitment presentations.Experience working with and interpreting University of Toronto guidelines and procedures.Experience creating and maintaining databases, and experience extracting, analyzing, and arranging relevant information in reports.Advanced skills in student systems to enter data, retrieve information, and generate reports.Proficiency in Office 365 suite and SharePoint.Proven understanding and application of equity, diversity, and inclusion theories.A strong customer service orientation, and effective interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to organize work and establish priorities.Ability to take initiative and work proactively.To be successful in this role you will be:Achievement orientedDiplomaticOrganizedSelf-directedTactfulPlease note this is a term position until November 7, 2025.Closing Date: 11/10/2024, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - TermSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 14 -- $90,056. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $115,169.All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.Diversity StatementThe University of Toronto embraces Diversity and is building a culture of belonging that increases our capacity to effectively address and serve the interests of our global community.
