Academic Programme Leader - School of Global Tourism and HospitalityLocation: DurbanSalary: ZAR 300000 - 400000Listing reference: manco_000596Listing status: OnlineApply by: 4 October 2024Position SummaryJob category: Others: Education and TrainingContract: Fixed Term ContractEE position: YesIntroductionMANCOSA, a DHET registered and CHE accredited private higher education distance education provider, offering undergraduate and postgraduate business qualifications, has the following vacancy available in the School of Global Tourism and Hospitality.Core Functions Include:Programme Management and Leadership (within the confines of MANCOSA's vision, mission, and strategy)Establish and maintain Programme philosophy, including link to vision and missionDesign and management of programme teaching and learning strategyIntegrated effort with marketing and student enrolment to identify and communicate programme value propositionProgramme Planning and Administration in collaboration with the Institutional Planning DepartmentIdentification of suitable academics for content development, delivery, and assessmentQuality control of programme information available on website and prospectusPreparation and planning of WIL placement (if applicable)Management of semesterly admissions in line with enrolment plansApplication of programme and institutional SOPs and rulesFacilitation of webinarsInduction of academic staffPromotion of appropriate Community Engagement initiatives and activitiesProgramme specific career guidance in collaboration with Career CentreGathering longitudinal programme and student performance data to feedback into lifecycle managementReport on trend analysis and benchmarking undertaken, student throughput, retention, articulation, and dropout ratesProgramme Governance (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Risk Management)QualificationsEssential qualification: Postgraduate degree specialising in Tourism and Hospitality (NQF Level 8) studying towards Masters in Tourism and Hospitality.Experience and SkillsMinimum 3 years' experience in higher Education/ Academic.Demonstrate high-quality academic knowledgeProvide guidance in the evolving education spectrumLeading and Decision-makingConflict Resolution and Co-operatingAnalysing and InterpretingCreating and ConceptualisingOrganising and ExecutingAdapting and CopingEnterprising and performingAdvantages3-5 years relevant Tourism and Hospitality working experienceMinimum 2 years' experience in Learner Management System administration/coordinationAcademic Management backgroundGeneralTo demonstrate academic acumen and provide relevant expertise within the scope of Global Tourism and Hospitality.
