The IIE's Vega, Cape Town Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Academic Navigator (Lecturer) for the second semester in the following module:
Retail Management
Job Purpose:
Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning.
Key Performance Areas:
Prepare for lectures based on provided content. Supplement content with own expertise. Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours. Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback. Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed. Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success. Provide content feedback. Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Ideal:
Honours in Business specialising in Retail; Marketing; and/or Sales Management.
Alternatively:
Honours in one of the Business-related fields (e.g. marketing, retail or sales management) – with Retail Management to the third-year level.
Bachelor's degree with Retail Management or a similarly related field (e.g. marketing, sales or retail management) with Retail Management to the third-year level PLUS either an MBA/MBL or a postgraduate diploma in business or education.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
Lecturing experience in retail/marketing management/sales or business management.
Work experience as a retail, sales or marketing manager.
A relevant BCom or BBA qualification with relevant retail industry experience would be an advantage.
