Responsibilities: Academic Leadership Lead and manage a faculty of technology experts, ensuring that academic standards remain high and aligned with global industry trends. Collaborate with academic teams to develop, implement, and review technology programmes that produce job-ready graduates. Encourage a culture of research and development, promoting cutting-edge practices in technology education. Programme Development & Quality Assurance Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of technology programmes, ensuring they are forward-thinking and aligned with industry needs. Ensure programme differentiation across NQF levels, avoiding content overlap between modules. Maintain relevance of learning outcomes, ensuring materials and examples reflect the latest technological advancements. Quality assure and sign off on academic materials, workbooks, and digital content. Assessment Management Oversee the quality assurance of formative and summative assessments, ensuring alignment with programme objectives. Ensure external moderation of exit-level exam papers and final assessments. Review and sign off on assessment results, ensuring integrity and consistency across all academic evaluations. Faculty & Student Support Lead and mentor academic staff, providing developmental feedback and performance management support to both full-time and part-time academics. Monitor and evaluate facilitators and e-tutors, ensuring high-quality delivery of online and in-person programmes. Work closely with students to address escalated academic queries, support "at-risk" students, and manage dropout rates. Research & Publications Supervise or co-supervise postgraduate (Masters and PhD) research students. Publish or co-publish articles in peer-reviewed journals to enhance the institutions research profile. Sustainability & Growth Monitor enrolment numbers and work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure growth targets are met. Participate in marketing and student recruitment initiatives such as open days and digital campaigns. Ensure the institutions programmes remain competitive and sustainable through market-relevant adaptations. Requirements: A Master's degree in a technology-related field (PhD preferred). 3-5 years of experience managing a faculty or group of academic experts (7 years preferred). Proven ability to lead academic teams, manage programme delivery, and maintain high academic standards. Strong research background and the ability to contribute to publications and thought leadership. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both academic staff and students.
