Brief description The main purpose of this position is to help the Prudential Authority (PA) to discharge its supervisory responsibilities regarding industry analysis by disseminating accurate and relevant industry information ? including current and emerging industry risk issues ? to internal stakeholders within the PA and the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

Detailed description The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

Assess the macroeconomic environment and detect the build-up of risks, trends and concentrations in the financial/insurance sector. Assist in building a risk-monitoring framework. Provide accurate and meaningful information on the financial sector (specifically insurance) to internal stakeholders and other relevant authorities. Analyse sector data. Prepare and draft reports, graphs and presentations on industry issues and trends. Perform ad hoc duties, including participation in special projects as and when required, coordination and participation in multidisciplinary teams to complete surveys and other requests for information.
