Brief description The main purpose of this position is to support, maintain and enhance the Business Solutions and Technology Department's (BSTD) applications to ensure systems availability, health and optimal performance. Detailed description The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas: Support the BSTD applications by monitoring the underlying environments (databases and application servers) to ensure capacity management, systems availability and optimal performance. Maintain the BSTD applications by applying corrective measures (e.g. patches, upgrades, bug fixes). Proactively monitor all application upgrades, new releases and product replacements which would affect the assigned application. Configure the application infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and install new features to enable new functionality. Investigate and resolve technical issues of a medium to high complexity by interacting with users, developers and other stakeholders on allocated applications. Provide reports and recommendations on solution performance and system availability to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Proactively manage business and stakeholder relationships with respect to application support. Keep abreast of best practices and technologies related to BSTD and ensure the application thereof, where relevant. Impart knowledge of the technical environment to the system development team. Maintain compliance to security and application standards.
