Main purpose of the job
Providing academic vision to the faculty and leading the strategic development of the faculty in alignment with the university's strategic priority areas.
Main tasks
Achieving the faculty's strategic goals and operational targets.
Managing human, financial, physical and other resources.
Managing change.
Managing and overseeing quality and standards.
Planning, organising and decision-making.
Leading and developing individuals and teams.
Participating in the development and management of the university's strategic plan.
Nature of appointment
Five-year Senior Manager performance-based contract.
Minimum salary scale
(Total Cost to Company) R1 715 399 per annum.

Accordingly, the preferred candidate may expect an offer that is in line with their qualifications and years of similar experience. Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience
PhD or equivalent qualification in a field relating to the disciplinary areas of the faculty.
Should have obtained at least the rank of associate professor.
A substantial track record of academic achievement and excellence in a disciplinary area of the faculty.
Evidence of strong academic leadership in teaching, research and engagement.
Evidence of at least five (5) years' leadership and management experience at middle and/or senior management level in higher education.
Proven experience of delivery against organisational and individual objectives.
Proven experience of generating third-stream income.
Experience of motivating and inspiring teams in delivering objectives.
Desired Qualification/ Knowledge And/ Or Experience
Should have attained the rank of professor.
Evidence of at least eight (8) years' leadership and management experience at middle and/or senior management level in higher education.
Professional registration to the relevant professional body, where applicable.
