1x Candidate InspectorRef No: 6193Business Unit: Legal MetrologyReporting To: Manager: Inspections (Operations)CTC (Basic Salary): Basic Salary Per Annum R 464,365.82PurposeTo administer compulsory specifications and technical regulations on behalf of the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition by monitoring compliance through inspections and/or evaluations.• Assist in monitoring compliance with Compulsory Specifications and Technical Regulations• Assisting in issuing appropriate sanctions for non-compliance• Assisting with processing applications for service rendered by the division• Assisting with NRCS Quality Management System (QMS)• Assisting with stakeholder relations management• Assisting in the NRCS Committees• Carry out inspections under the supervision of a mentor• Undergo training in accordance with Inspection training planQualification / ExperienceNational Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering (specializing in legal, health, safety, environmental monitoring instrumentation or related scientific qualifications)Must be willing to travelWill be required to undergo Legal Metrology training for a period of 18 – 24 monthsKnowledgeKnowledge of the NRCS Act; Legal Metrology Act and Regulations, Knowledge of the compulsory specifications and technical regulations related to Legal Metrology; General understanding of SANS 17020 and SANS 17025; General understanding of various related legislation impacting on the work of NRCS; Microsoft Word and Excel, Analytical thinkingBehavioral AttributesReport writing skills; Ability to use judgment; Problem-solving; Planning and Organizing; Action-oriented; Deadline driven; Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
