RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND ENGAGEMENT

Main purpose of the job To strategically direct, lead and monitor research, postgraduate education, innovation, technology transfer, engagement and internationalisation at CUT in a rapidly changing socio-economic and higher education environment; and to lead and participate in university-wide decision-making processes towards achieving the university's strategic goals in line with Vision 2030 and our core values.
Main tasks 1. Strategic Partnerships, Strategy and Compliance
2. Strategically Direct and Lead the Research, Innovation & Engagement Division including:
· Innovation and Technology Transfer
· Internationalisation
· Research Development and Postgraduate Studies
· Community Engagement
· University- & Research Centres
Nature of appointment Five-year Executive Manager performance-based contract
Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company) Available on request

Accordingly, the preferred candidate may expect an offer that is in line with their qualifications and years of similar experience. Please contact the Recruitment office for more information on the applicable salary scale. Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience · A Doctoral-level degree
· At least ten years of executive / senior managerial experience in a higher education environment
· Academic teaching experience with evidence of excellence in research and teaching
· Accredited scholarly publications
· Academic credibility as recognised by peers and the business environment.
· Extensive knowledge in areas of leadership / strategy / management and research.
Desired Qualification, Knowledge And/Or Experience · In addition to a Doctorate, a management qualification or equivalent.
· NRF-rating as a researcher
