Financial Accountant

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Responsible for accurate financial reporting on a monthly and annual basis for group companies. This includes compiling financial statements, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, preparation of tax and vat returns, engaging with auditors and providing support during interim and final audits , analysis of financial information and assistance on various projects as directed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for financial reporting including: Preparation and presentation of Balance sheet reconciliations and other financial reconciliations for Group CompaniesPreparation of Deliverables required for the Interim and & Annual internal and external AuditsSubmission and completion of Annual Financial Statements & statutory returns to SARS for the Group.Preparation and presentation of monthly balance sheet management pack to managementPreparing schedules and financial information analysis requiredPreparation of Annual financials statement for Group companies using CaseWareTo consolidate Group Financial StatementsGeneral: Support and assistance with team projects and initiativesStock taking procedures when requiredAdministrative tasksParticipation in team eventsQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED MatricAccounting diploma or degree requiredMinimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar positionUnderstanding of audit techniquesAbility to analyse and spot problems in working processesKnowledge of banking platformsExcel experienceCaseware experience requiredAccounting software experienceSound knowledge of Income Tax and VAT ActSound knowledge of IFRS and accounting reporting standardsBEHAVIOUR AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED ProfessionalTime managementLogical approachConsistentMotivatedUses initiativeAccuracyAttention to detailAnalyticalProblem solvingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam playerIndependent workerRemuneration: A market related package including benefits
