Our client is based in looking for a strong 2IC to hit the ground running in this all rounder warehousing function.
Company services clients in the hospitality industry with their catering products.
DUTIES:
WAREHOUSING
A basic understanding of warehousing is an advantage ,understand that stock is money ,must be rotated ,must be packed and palletised correctly so there are zero damages.
Must be able to take charge of deliveries receive and check stock correctly.
Must learn the company's selling units and products/line items quickly.
Must be able to handle a pallet jack ,be aware of working safely.
Must learn which company's deliver which products on which days.
Must work closely with Owner and assist in placing orders –no under or over ordering.
Neatness of warehouse is paramount where every item has its place ,despite space being an issue.
Pallet jack must be able to move between the spaces provided to receive stock and then move into its place on warehouse floor.
TELESALES
A good telephone etiquette and client relations. Must be sales/marketing orientated. Must be able to work with various managers in the industry
Confirm orders that are not understood ,either by a phone call or a WhatsApp.
Make alternate suggestions if items are out of stock –aim to not lose any sales.
Devise a system with the Owner where there is a customer profile showing their purchases and being able to remind them to check certain stocks.
Must be able to Work off a customer calling/contact list which has already been devised and ensure that no customer is left unattended .
Must be able to place orders on the correct WhatsApp group so it gets delivered to the right area as per the route list.
INVOICING
Ensure orders are taken down and punched/invoiced correctly regarding line items and quantities required
Check invoices to ensure no errors OR out of stocks
Must be able to do data entry of bills received ,generating of invoices, this must be done accurately
Must be able to enter bills of hard copies as well as emailed copies.
ROUTE LIST/DELIVERY DAYS
Must learn the delivery days and be familiar with which area/areas are delivered when.
Must be able to compile the pulling list.(stock going out on a particular day) ,and compile a route list showing the route the driver & van assistants will take to deliver the goods.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Must be committed ,and at times be prepared to go beyond the call of duty.
Must be Positive , Honest ,of a mature nature ,organised ,motivated ,have Initiative ,and be willing to learn. Must be professional.
Must be able to take instruction and carry them out effectively.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid code 08 drivers licence
Must be familiar with Quickbooks
A basic understanding of the Hospitality /HORECA industry is an advantage.
Proficient in MS office packages (outlook/word/excel)
Effective communication with Management daily / providing updates etc
Must be strong at admin.
Must be able to manage their time effectively and be able to work under pressure.
Ability to assist in making business decisions.
Must be able to work with WhatsApp and manage groups we have as much as 80 groups
Must understand that sometimes they will have to carry out tasks if another staff member is absent.
