PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Warehouse Controller is responsible for executing warehouse activities in support of the overall Supply chain strategy, in line with the Business Plan, to be achieved by the following; Receiving of stock, safe-keeping of raw materials, issuing stock to endusers, material expediting for on-time delivery to end-users, coordinating material returns and management of inventory levels. Major contribution on inbound and outbound logistics, goods customer service & logistics to internal clients. Consistent adherence & compliance to logistics procedures that support the execution of the Business Plan. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum: Grade 12 / Matric and a Certificate in Supply Chain; Operations or Equivalent Minimum 2 years experience in the warehouse environment Minimum 2 years experience in warehouse management systems Minimum 2 years experience in stock-taking and conducting cycle counts Sound expertise in Computer programs (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Forklift Driving Licence Materials Handling including dangerous goods Willingness to relocate if applicable. KNOWLEDGE: Transactional exposure and knowledge of ERP Systems (e.g. SAP) Knowledge of operations or production processes. Knowledge of supply chain processes. Basic knowledge of project management. Technical knowledge or experience will be an added advantage. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Perform relevant transactions on the ERP system Computer Literacy (MS Office, Excel) and basic internet skills Product knowledge and project management experience Good time management and keeping to targets & deadlines Ability to achieve maximum integration with other departments within the company KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Inbound Logistics Receive goods and services according to procedure; Receive goods and services adhering to required documentation (Purchase Order, Delivery notes, Invoices, Certificate of Conformance / Analysis) Processing of Goods Receipt on the SAP ERP system within 24 hours of delivery Resolving queries relating to inbound logistics. Inventory Management Ensure stock accuracy in the warehouse Execute cycle count activities as scheduled Execute stock-take activities as per procedure. Implement standard part identification Ensure On-Time Goods Receipts & Binning process Apply FIFO Maintain shelf-life and batch/lot of materials in the warehouse Maintain correct re-order point levels in the warehouse; Ensure material availability in the warehouse at all times; Identification and reporting of excess stock in the warehouse Outbound Logistics Execute issuing plan to avoid production stoppages or delays Issue goods and services according to procedure (Issue goods and services adhering to required documentation (stock reservation, production order, picking list)); Ensure that goods issued are quality-approved; Ensure on-time goods issuing; Follow the correct return to supplier process and relevant documentation (Return delivery note, Exit permit/gate pass, NCR / Reject Note); Processing of Goods Issue on the SAP ERP system before the physical issuing of goods Ensure that the material to be dispatched is correctly packaged for proper handling. Operational Excellence Maintain 5S housekeeping and cleanliness in the warehouse Correct archiving and filing of documentation in the warehouse Identify and Implement continuous improvement ideas Ensure optimum and safe space utilization in the warehouse Ensure correct and safe stacking and storage of items in the warehouse Maintain world-class practices on visual management, layout optimisation, and proper boundaries in the warehouse Safety and Security in the warehouse Ensure that all the SHE requirements in the warehouse are adhered to Ensure safe use of equipment and machinery in the warehouse Ensure that material is safely secured at all times Maintain strict access control in the warehouse Carry out regular safety inspections Implementation of corrective actions from audit findings Customer Service Timeously resolve queries. Maintain strong business relationships with internal customers to maximise operational efficiencies Prompt and effective reaction in executing urgent or critical requirements
