Closing date: 02/09/2024Number of positions: 1Recruiter name: Steven PelserReference number: 53331Workplace Type: On-sitePermanentPlease note if you are an internal employee on a fixed term contract please apply using an external candidate profile and not your employee profileMAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASEnsure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures.Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit.Lead and manage the staff in the unit.Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources.Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital.Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes.Manage key stakeholder relations.REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: 3 or 4-year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing; Postgraduate qualification in the unit's specialist area (if relevant).REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital; 2-3 years leadership experience in a hospital.DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation.REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEAuditing and accreditation processes.Clinical risk management.Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies.Human resource processes including employee relations.Infection prevention and control.Management of staff productivity.Nursing functional knowledge.All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
