Technician - Electronics DurbanClient based in Durban requires an Electronics Technician for their manufacturing plant, experience in working with electronics and electrical components, including use of testing equipment (e.g., digital mustimeters),Soldering of Printed Circuit Boards, specifically, handling and soldering of SMD components. Their requirements are set out below;KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIREDMust be an excellent problem-solver, specifically, must possess the ability to troubleshoot electronic, electrical and mechanical problems.Knowledge of materials (e.g., Aluminium, Copper, Steel, Stainless Steel) and materials processing (e.g., how to correctly drill various grades of stainless steel).Ability to operate various machines and tools safely and correctly: CNC Milling Machines, Lathes, Verniers, various Hand-tools, Cut-off Saws, Plunge Saws, Angle Grinders, Electric Drills and Drivers, Bench Saws, Table Saws, Drill Press.Experience in working with electronics and electrical components, including use of testing equipment (e.g., digital mustimeters).Soldering of Printed Circuit Boards, specifically, handling and soldering of SMD components. (VERY IMPORTANT)Able to identify and work with electronic components.General use of Forklift for goods handling.Able to work neatly and methodically.Must demonstrate an extremely high attention to detail, that is, must be detail-oriented.Must have computer literacy, knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and web browsers (Edge or Chrome).Able to follow production specifications to set up machines.Work requires physical effort, occasionally lifting ±30kg.Safety: Housekeeping, Machine Safety and General Safety.By way of internal training, is completely aware of our Quality, Safety and Environmental Policy and Procedures and the parts for which they are responsible.Must be familiar with Occupational Health and Safety, including but not limited to: First Aid, Firefighting, HIRA, and Incident Investigation.Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written.QUALIFICATIONS Grade 12 and relevant post-matric Qualification – (Not Negotiable).Relevant technical qualification: National Diploma / Diploma / Degree Electrical,Millwright or Mechatronics (Science related)More than 2 years + actual working experience in a technical field (not including internship)CNC Machining and CNC Milling QMS ISO900Occupational Health and Safety (First Aid, Firefighting, HIRA, and Incident Investigation) Valid Forklift Driver's Certification and Licence – (Advantage).
