R600 - R745 000 Basic Per Annum plus Benefits (Negotiable based on qualification and years of relevant experience)

This role will report into the: General Manager
Main Purpose of the Role:
You will be responsible for the design and implementation of food safety and quality management systems, site specific as well as ensure periodic review of an appropriate product quality and food safety program at the facility.
Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Food Science / Microbiology or related Degree or DiplomaSupplementary advanced training in Food Safety Systems6-8 Years' relevant technical leadership experience gained in the food manufacturing industry5 Years quality assurance management experience gained within the food manufacturing working industry is highly advantageousProven financial acumen and budgetary management expertiseSolid report writing and presentation skillsProficiency in MS Office, with strong MS Excel capabilitiesExperience with PowerBI would be advantageousValid driver's license and own reliable transport preferredKey Duties and Responsibilities:
Stakeholder/Customer Relations:
Understand customer requirements and design and implement an appropriate system to meet the requirementsManage customer complaints within targetsSeek to continuously improve customer relationships through closely working with the internal and external customerLiaise with NPD department during product development to approve developmental technical processes.Update and approve product specifications for customers including on the Clients portalExternal audits:
Lead all third party/ customer audits for the site and facilitate closing of corrective actionsSupplier Quality Assurance:
Conduct and participate in supplier auditsSign off all new raw materials and packaging for new product development purposesEnsure all raw material approved is within specification, including approval of raw materials from alternate suppliersLiaise and provide service rating for all external service providers at site levelFinancial Management:
Manage the technical budgetAssist in compiling the necessary information for budget reviewsDocumentation and Administration:
Monthly technical reportsConduct and document food safety team meetingsTrend monitoring and verification reports to identify areas of improvementsRelease at site level all documentation as distributed by the Group Document ControllerQuality & Food Safety:
Understand the business food safety and quality management system and ensure proper implementation and maintenance thereof at site levelContinuously improve the food safety documented traceability system for the site to ensure proper due diligence.Adhere to all relevant legislation and ensure all final product label information meet legislative requirementsEnsure all site certifications are maintained at the appropriate standardsSet up and adherence to training plan that aligns to requirements of quality / food safety management systemContinuously review and update site allergen management programs as part of risk managementEnsure timeous close off of NCR's relevant to the Technical Department, including identification of repeating total NCR trends to drive continuous improvement.Promote a culture of quality and food safety management within the siteImplement and monitor performance of GMP and PRP programs in the facilityIdentify quality control points within processes and ensure suitable controls are implementedContinuously review quality and food safety risk assessments in line with emerging risks and regulatory requirements.Conducting all relevant compliance testing and ensuring all corrective actions are closed offEnsuring internal audits are conducted as per internal audit schedule and appropriate action is taken to address deviationsParticipate in cross site auditsProcess Improvement:
Actively seek continuous improvement initiatives - stay abreast of industry and customer / requirements and international trends with regard to relevant standards and identify and implement improvementRisk and Compliance:
Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirementsEnsure compliance to all food safety regulations, pest control and housekeeping.Participate in personal hygiene check
