Your opportunity:
The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges regarding all matters relating to Arts & Science students. We are dedicated to making the A&S student experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate and administer various services and programs to support student success.
Under the direction of the Associate Director, Student Success Programs the Student Success Coordinator will support the Increasing Access through Learning Communities for First-year Students project. This project is a collaboration between the Office of the Faculty Registrar and the First Year Office at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering to support the transition to university and academic success of students who experience barriers to education.
The Student Success Coordinator provides project management and administrative assistance by coordinating and monitoring project logistics and progression, assisting with research in determining promising practices for responding to the priorities of underrepresented groups, and coordinating events and meetings.
Your responsibilities will include: Analyzing processes and recommending changes for more efficient coordination of operationsTracking and collecting information on project progressWriting routine documents and correspondenceFacilitating focus group meetings that may inform strategic planningEditing program and service materialsCoordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up itemsDetermining logistical details and activities for events and/or programmingHandling sensitive and/or confidential informationEssential Qualifications: Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum five years of experience planning and coordinating the administration and support of student experience programming, preferably within the University of Toronto.Experience planning the logistics for events and programs.Experience tracking the progress of projects.Experience facilitating focus groups to students and evaluating the results.Sound knowledge of anti-oppression and equity frameworks and demonstrated understanding of the societal and systemic barriers that members of underserved communities continue to face.Strong administrative skills; ability to be proactive and to anticipate needs and a high attention to detail.Demonstrate strong personal initiative; tact and good judgment and ability to successfully meet deadlinesAbility to be an effective team player, develop and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty and external stakeholdersExcellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.Assets (Nonessential): Experience in an access-related role or familiarity with access work preferred.Experience in first-year student programming and/or learning communities, preferred.To be successful in this role you will be: AccountableApproachableMulti-taskerOrganizedTeam playerPlease note: This is a term position until May 2026.A copy of the detailed job description is available upon request from the Faculty of Arts and Science HR office by emailing: ******.Closing Date: 09/27/2024, 11:59PM ET

USW Pay Band 10 -- $70,844. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,595. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
