To improve Reconciliations and Settlements maturity and operational processes for a defined subset of countries within Africa Regions, across all segments and products, mitigating the risk exposure to the Group. To provide specialist input and subject matter expertise to country leadership with the view to shape, influence, support and embed the optimal development and implementation of Country solutions.QualificationsA Degree in Business Commerce, Finance, and Accounting Required.ExperienceAdvanced knowledge and experience at a financial institution, including an understanding of Payments products, processes, and procedures.Knowledge of the foreign exchange market and processing cross-border payments, as well as an understanding of the risks associated with managing transactions in multiple jurisdictions.Relevant reconciliation experience and a thorough understanding of systems, processes, and procedures to perform and manage reconciliations.1-2 years of knowledge and practical experience with using relevant MS Office programs and systems including Intellimatch, BizWize, or other reconciliation systems. Experience within a Banking Operations environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote and communicate the standards, processes, and practices to ensure measurable improvement in the reconciliations capabilities in country. Shape and manage the delivery of strategic initiatives for Reconciliations for a subset of countries within Africa Regions (and/or BU) enabling business transformation, business process improvement, productivity, and capacity optimisation by leveraging deep expertise.Act as the Reconciliations subject matter expert to provide thought leadership and advice to senior leaders across countries on best practices and processes to ensure continuous improvement and maturing of the reconciliations capability.Engage the business on an ongoing basis to build a continuous business improvement culture across the leadership and delivery teams in country and provide the necessary collateral, upskilling, and advisory support to deliver execution excellence.Identify, investigate, and report on all trends and anomalies to facilitate the required remedial action and advise on recommended best practices to be adopted and monitored accordingly.Identify operational risks and provide advice to country management to remediate operational issues, losses, and mitigate risks to the Bank or any impact to the client.Design, develop, and optimize innovative and comprehensive end-to-end solutions to address the Reconciliation and Settlement risk/issues in Country and influence as well as enable the business to adopt and lead the implementation.Monitor and measure the impact of Reconciliation and Settlement programmes and projects across Africa Regions to mature the capability and improve the risk posture.Lead and position the change imperative to take the business along on the required transformation in a manner that is supportive of nuances in country and facilitate a high implementation adoption and success.Drive and manage appropriate Settlements and Reconciliations governance standards, methodologies, procedures, frameworks, and processes to ensure appropriate compliance and reporting.Drive the implementation of all new/existing standards, processes, and procedures for Reconciliations and Settlements by overseeing the update of all necessary documentation and the implementation of the required training to realize the objectives of skills development and ensuring continuous relevance and updating of appropriate knowledge repositories (e.g., GRG, Toolboxes, training material, etc.).Review and monitor daily dashboards to ensure adherence to the minimum reconciliation standards on the respective tools (e.g., Bizwize, Intellimatch, etc.).
