Job Title: Short-Term Insurance Underwriter Location: George, Western Cape Job Type: Permanent Minimum Qualification Criteria: Matric Relevant Degree or Diploma in Insurance, Risk Management or related field would be advantageous Short-term Insurance Qualification (Compulsory) RE 5 (Must be currently registered) FAIS Compliant Completed Supervision Product Specific Training Class of Business Commercial and/or Personal Lines CPD hours in current cycle Experience on CIMS360 would be advantageous Computer Skills: Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite Word, Excel, Outlook Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and assess risk for new and renewal business Make informed underwriting decisions within delegated authority levels Conduct risk assessments and analyze data to determine premiums Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements Provide exceptional customer service to brokers and clients Maintain accurate records and update internal systems Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives Desirables: Experience with insurance software and systems Knowledge of regulatory framework governing short-term insurance Strong technical underwriting skills
