Reference: 9756 MLR Consultant: Michelle le Roux Job Description: Coordinate Import Operations: Liaise with international suppliers and vendors to facilitate the timely shipment of goods.Manage Logistics and Transportation: Optimize transportation methods and routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective import processes.Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all import activities comply with customs regulations, trade laws, and international standards.Handle Documentation: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of all necessary import documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs declarations.Negotiate with Carriers: Negotiate rates and contracts with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics providers.Monitor Shipments: Track and monitor the status of inbound shipments, both Sea Freight and Air Freight, to ensure on-time delivery and address any delays or issues.Update Shipment Status: Update the working documents such as Purchase Orders and Shipping Records on the ERP system. Update shipping dates and calculate and maintain payment dates of invoices based on Supplier Terms.Manage Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other key stakeholders.Resolve Issues: Address and resolve any problems related to shipment delays, damages, or compliance violations.Optimize Costs: Analyse import costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses and improve cost efficiency.Maintain Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all import transactions, shipments, and related activities.
