Job Title: SHERQ & Sustainability Integration ExecutiveLocation: GautengFunction: HRGrade: DUSalary: R90 000.00 - R125 000.00Purpose of the RoleThe SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) & Sustainability Integration Executive plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization meets its regulatory and ethical obligations while driving continuous improvement in safety, health, environmental stewardship, risk management, and quality control. This includes the development and implementation of strategies that integrate SHERQ principles into all business operations, with a focus on maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The Executive is responsible for leading initiatives that mitigate risks, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry standards, while also championing sustainable practices that align with the companys long-term goals and values.Main ResponsibilitiesStrategy ExecutionCollaborate with the HR & SHERQ Director to develop and implement a national SHERQ & Sustainability strategy, aligned with long-term business goals.Work closely with regional management teams to ensure the delivery of safety, health, and quality benefits, and the achievement of strategic targets.Drive continuous improvement in SHERQ processes and systems to maintain the highest standards.Monitor market trends and adapt SHERQ and Sustainability strategies accordingly.Strategic Insight and Technical ExpertiseProvide technical, legal, and advisory support to internal and external stakeholders.Achieve and maintain certifications such as ISO 14001 and ISO 22000, ensuring ongoing compliance and continual improvement.Serve as the management representative for ISO 22000.Manage and facilitate executive-level national management reviews.Define and maintain company policies related to quality assurance, food safety, occupational health and safety, and risk management.Lead sustainability efforts across the business.Stay updated on the latest trends and technology in SHERQ and Sustainability.Total Integrated Systems ManagementManage the Total Integrated Management System (TIMS) across the business to ensure relevant certification, continuous improvement, sustainability, and risk management.Deliver services to various functional areas within the business and to external customers.Manage audits to verify compliance with legal requirements, quality specifications, and safety standards.Support and drive ongoing quality improvement by cultivating the required behavior through TIMS.Supplier Quality AssuranceManage the Supplier Quality Assurance Program.Develop food safety and quality strategies for suppliers based on international standards and internal priorities.Perform supplier audits and manage a process for tracking the status of resolutions.Provide technical support to suppliers to minimize associated risks.Project ManagementParticipate in project meetings to provide support on legal, food safety, and quality issues.Identify risks associated with projects and manage them accordingly.Advise on legal requirements for projects and influence regulation through strategic initiatives.Sustainability ManagementDevelop and implement sustainability strategies that align with organizational goals, including energy conservation and waste management.Monitor and report on sustainability metrics, including carbon emissions and energy usage.Promote energy efficiency initiatives and enhance waste management practices.Integrate sustainability into business processes and conduct environmental impact assessments.Staff and Team ManagementLead and develop staff in compliance with relevant labor laws and company policies.Manage staff performance, providing regular feedback and coaching to achieve objectives.Oversee staff training and development, ensuring the future generation of leaders and specialists.Conduct regular performance appraisals and manage team communication and organizational structures.Education and QualificationBachelors degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, or a related field.
