Sheq Officer

Area/Location: Modderfontein Job Summary: Our client is seeking a SHEQ Officer responsible for overseeing the nursing and medical services for workers.
This role involves specialized responsibilities due to the unique environment. Key Responsibilities: Continuously monitor and adapt change or intervention technologies to improve SHEQ behaviour, attitudes, and skills, and enhance SHEQ roles.Interpret and apply all legal requirements by developing and maintaining systems and procedures, and participate in all investigations related to the function.
Monitor all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality issues and advise on corrective actions where necessary.Facilitate risk assessments, including task risk assessments, environmental aspects and impacts, and project-related risk assessments.Collaborate with line management, focusing on the appropriateness of operating procedures and ensuring adherence.
Advise and assist in identifying and implementing corrective actions, such as revising operating instructions or training/re-training operational personnel.Conduct permit-to-work training and audits for all project personnel.Assist line management in compiling SHEQ-related training schedules and provide or arrange for the provision of identified training.
This includes clearance training, advanced driver training, and environmental awareness training.
Ensure that hard copies and systems records of such training are maintained.Provide support functions for offices, project execution, and public water sites.Assist in compiling SHEQ requirements for tenders.Ensure contractor compliance before the commencement of the project and during execution.Extensive travel to customer sites for inspections and other related tasks.Qualifications and Expertise Required:Grade 12.A degree or diploma in Safety Management.Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer.Valid drivers license.Reliable vehicle.Competencies:Strong communication skills.Problem-solving abilities.Ability to meet deadlines.Team player.
