SENIOR LECTURER IN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING/DESIGN QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: At the Senior Lecturer level, a Doctoral degree in Structural Engineering / Design with a focus on Steel Structures is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering is also required. The successful candidate will possess a strong research interest in structural dynamics and numerical modeling, a developing track record of research outputs in refereed publications of internationally excellent quality, and evidence of successful postgraduate student supervision. Additionally, a record of teaching in a university environment is essential. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PrEng), or eligibility for registration with ECSA, is also required.

ADDED ADVANTAGES: An NRF rating, a record of securing research funding, relevant industry experience, and evidence of research collaborations would be advantageous.

YOUR ROLE: To teach discipline-related engineering courses as well as other basic civil engineering topics at undergraduate level. To supervise the research of undergraduate and postgraduate students. To lead a postgraduate coursework programme. To contribute towards research and innovation through publications in high-quality outlets, including conference proceedings, journal papers, and book chapters. Develop and sustain a productive research programme. Maintain a record of high-quality research outputs including books and journal papers. Be actively involved in research, innovation and impact at a national and international level, as well as contributing to the School's activities. Provide mentorship to emerging researchers in the School and Faculty. Contribute effectively to the administrative processes and committee structures of the School, including taking on leadership roles and where appropriate, managing initiatives which facilitate School, Faculty or University performance.
