Job DescriptionOur client, a leading manufacturing company, is looking to recruit a HPCSA Registered, Senior Fire Officer (Fire & Emergency Response) for their KZN site. Candidates who live outside of the province will be assisted in relocation. Only South African Citizens need apply. Minimum Requirements:MatricHigher Certificate in Fire EngineeringIntermediate Life Support Paramedic Mandatory including registration with HPCSA (Non-Negotiable)High Angle rope rescue 1+2 QualificationsSAMTRACOther (Advantageous):Incident CommanderFire Officer 2 will be advantageousSnake identification/bite treatment and snake handling will be advantageousNational Diploma or Higher Qualification in Fire Engineering or related Risk Field will be advantageousC1 Drivers LicenceProfessional Driving PermitExperience:Minimum of 3 years in industrial/Municipal Fire Services in a similar capacitySAP or Equivalent Central Maintenance Management System advantageous & MS Office SuiteMedically fit & able to pass a fitness test & safety MedicalLeadership experience in managing medical or hazmat emergenciesResponsibilities include overseeing all fire safety and emergency response activities in a manufacturing facility, responding to emergencies, and developing comprehensive plans and drillsConducting regular audits, drills, and training sessions to ensure employee preparednessMaintaining records and reports related to emergencies and establishing relationships with emergency medical and fire protection servicesTaking charge as an incident commander during emergencies and ensuring prompt and efficient responsesInspecting and maintaining equipment and systemsInvestigating fire incidents, identifying causes, and implementing corrective actionsEffective communication across different organizational levelsAbility to work well under pressure and independentlyTraining and coaching skills for personnelProficiency in conducting accurate audits and reportingPlanning and executing fire, medical, and hazmat drills, along with reporting findings and recommendationsManaging and maintaining emergency response equipmentProactive mindset for continuous improvementPlease note only shortlisted & qualified candidates will be contacted.
