Senior Financial AccountantThis role will report to the Financial Manager within the Cluster Consolidation Team in the Finance team.The Senior Financial Accountant will provide support to the Financial Manager and coach and guide the financial accountant and assistant financial accountant in the team. The role requires an individual that enjoys engaging with various stakeholders across the Organisation on various segment matters, coordinating with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes, drive reporting timelines of financial results, and execute on the business strategy, while managing governance and compliance at an operational level.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for delivering consolidated financial reporting, results, and business plans for the Wealth Segment, including the capital plan.Engage and coordinate with various stakeholders on statutory company audits, data governance, financial controls, and risk policies within the segment.Ensure adequate funding, solvency, and liquidity for Wealth Businesses.Offer insights and initiatives to enhance the return on capital for the Wealth Segment.Support the implementation of new business ventures and capital transactions.Conduct financial valuation and analysis.Provide technical accounting opinions on IFRS matters relevant to the Wealth segment.Generate internal management reports.Lead efforts to improve efficiencies within the Business processes.Assist with ad-hoc tasks and contribute to projects or analyses within the broader business or Finance teams.Support the implementation of Group and Wealth Segment initiatives within the Business.Managing financial operations and management, including timely reporting, taxation, legal, risk, and compliance for statutory companies.Overseeing audits of statutory companies.Developing, reporting, and interpreting cost drivers, key performance measures, and benchmarks.Managing relationships, reporting requirements, and oversight of independent financial advisory businesses, external subsidiaries, and associate companies.Providing insights and commentary on financial results, implications, and advising on corrective actions.Offering data and insights for Business Plan preparation.Engaging with business managers on financial outcomes, expense trends, etc.Ensuring governance and compliance at an operational level.Analyzing and reporting variances.Maintaining a suitable financial control environment.Fostering Finance team culture and cohesion.Upholding and modeling values, holding oneself and leadership team accountable.Ensuring effective talent management through robust succession planning.Practicing effective time management.Being individually accountable for tasks and output timeliness and quality.Enhancing and improving team and group collaboration efforts.Desired Experience & QualificationExperienced Chartered Accountant proficient in IFRS.Possessing over 2 years of post-articles experience.Desirable expertise in Oracle and HFM.Proficient in intermediate MS Office; PowerBi skills are advantageous.Exhibits proficiency in various IT applications and platforms.Capable of handling intricate financial datasets.Demonstrates strong work ethic, initiative, and high standards of achievement.Skilled in fostering teamwork across diverse teams and functions, capable of working independently.Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.Package & RemunerationInterested?Please Note:If you have not been contacted within two weeks (post CV submission date), please consider your application unsuccessful.By applying for this position, you hereby give consent for your personal information to be retained on our database for future employment opportunities and further grant consent for your personal information to be accessed by third parties, strictly for the purposes of recruitment and/or employment purposes.
