Job SpecWe are looking for a Specialist who is experienced in Employee Relations to join our Human Resource Department. You will be responsible for facilitating the execution of the company policies as well as relevant legislation, providing labour law advice and drafting legal opinions where necessary, representing the company at the CCMA, and ensuring that the Group is aware of and complies with all relevant labour laws.Responsibilities IncludeDrafting, reviewing, and updating policies in line with legislative changes and acceptable business practices.Litigation management: instructing external attorneys on matters in the labour court such as instituting or defending review applications.Travel and litigation budget management.Compiling monthly statistics and trends of the labour environment within the business.Keeping abreast of changes in legislation and advising the business on the impact.Drafting legal opinions on the topic of employee relations and the applicable change in legislation.Assessing, facilitating, assisting, and advising on workplace conflict i.e. grievances, counselling, and disciplinary enquiries.Drafting and reviewing employment contracts and service level agreements.Chairing wage negotiations annually at the manufacturing site.Managing the union/employer relationship at Industries.Providing efficient labour law advice to management through recommendations, memorandums, and consultation.Drafting and revising generic templates for employee relations processes such as poor work performance, disciplinary hearings, grievances, incapacity hearings, etc.Preparing and attending CCMA conciliation, arbitration, and in limine hearings.Ensuring that employees are updated on processes, policies, and rights applicable to them.Providing employee relations training to the business based on the specific needs within the departments.People management, including supervising and mentoring junior staff in the department.Qualification Requirements For This PositionLLB Degree.Admitted Attorney.Experience And Knowledge Required For The Position5 Years' labour law experience with 2 years as a supervisor.Competencies Required For The PositionExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders throughout the organisation.Ability to partner with (and influence) senior management.Highly motivated, proactive, and resilient.Ability to work through tight deadlines and under pressure.
