Oceans is hiring for a Senior Brand Designer position at Overeasy.
Overeasy is a stealth mode branding agency with founders Andrew Deitchman (Co-Founder and former CEO of Mother New York ) and Heather-Mariah Dixon.
As a Senior Brand Designer at Overeasy, you will be responsible for a range of creative and executional tasks.
The exact work changes with the lifecycle of the project, and the workload of the office, but some common areas of work will be: Brand Identity Building Contribute to and join in on initial brand strategy workshops.
Support with competitive audits including gathering assets and making observations.
Brainstorm with the team and create conceptual directions (beyond a moodboard) for visual identities, based on the brand strategy.
Create brand identity systems that include logos, color palettes, typography and supporting elements under the guidance of our creative director, infusing taste and attention to detail, while balancing client and team feedback.
Define photographic style & art direction for identity systems. Bring extended capabilities to the team where you have them, and be willing to learn new creative disciplines, whether that's photography, illustration, animation, hand lettering, etc. Create static and animated assets based on identity systems that seamlessly integrate into the overall brand world.
Assemble client-ready presentations in Figma Slides with mockups, rationales, and storytelling that supports the brand direction.
Create client-ready brand standards manuals that succinctly tell the strategic and visual story of the brand, and how to use the materials we've created.
Asset Creation Create day to day digital and print design materials for our clients such as decks, social media graphics, in-store signage and more, ensuring high attention to detail and expert type handling.
Storyboard and lightly animate social media graphics and ads.
Design delightful, responsive websites.
Source and treat stock imagery. Export and organize brand assets.
This work will likely be created using a combination of the following programs: Day to day programs used Adobe creative suite (particularly Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) Figma Google Suite (gmail, calendar, chat, docs, etc) Harvest Requirements Outside of the production of work, we expect the following attitudes and approaches: Expectations Communicate (verbally and written) wants, needs and boundaries about feedback, work and deadlines.
Have a sense of urgency around deadlines and communicate earlier rather than later if you need more time to complete a task.
Be courteous and polite to clients and collaborators at all times, on all channels.
Be detail oriented.
Be willing to go the extra mile to strategically explore a concept, even if it means experimenting with physical mediums or learning a new skill.
Be curious about expanding your skills and knowledge in type design, animation, illustration, coding, stop-motion, AI, and the ways in which these disciplines can influence or support brand identities. Flex and be flexible.
As a growing office, every week is different, and sometimes our work is conceptual, sometimes more executional.
