Reporting to the Freight Manager the incumbent in this role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the seamless movement of products from growers to clients adhering to standardized procedures and protocols all while maintaining continuous communication.
Key Performance Outputs Interacting with the commercial departments Informing customers regarding their allocations Shipment and container tracking to the customer Communicating with destination agents and customers as well as dealing with internal customer and agent queries Following up on destination deliveries and Proof of Deliveries Ensuring all details on ERP system are correct and maintained Source destination transport quotes and arrange destination transport if required Communicate with transporter customer and internal stakeholders Good understanding of export documentation accurate checking liaising with freight forwarders regarding corrections documents required for destinations being shipped to Manage documentation log and follow up with origin agents Monitor vessel ETD ATD ETA and ATAs and followedup previous weeks shipments ATD and ATA Distribute loadout summary for previous weeks loadings Sign off creditors invoice after checking against quotes/agreements Compare and find best rates from service providers Requirements Qualifications / Experience Senior certificate / Grade 12 / Matric Suitable tertiary qualification Minimum 2 years of work experience in the fruit industry with a specific focus on sea exports and related documentation Functional / Technical Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel Word PowerPoint) Excellent Email etiquette Export systems knowledge Understanding Incoterms Excellent Customer Service Skills Minimum Education/Qualification/Experience: Senior certificate / grade 12 / matric Suitable tertiary qualification.
Minimum 2 years of perishable transport coordination experience Leadership/Behavioural Excellent communication skills; verbal and written Effective negotiation skills Excellent planning, organisational skills Building and maintaining good interpersonal relationships Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously Ability to act with tact and discretion, whilst being assertive Problem solver, ready to take on any challenges Ability to work outside normal business hours, as required Functional/Technical Excellent Computer literacy: MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Systems knowledge (ie Dipar, Netsuite, etc.)
