Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Safety Officer to be placed in Impala 16 Shaft, Rustenburg, Northwest. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Safety Officer. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Effective self-management in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiativesEffective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows.Accurate, timely completion of Safety Officer's Inspection and LogbookAccurate, timely, thorough investigations of incidents / accidentsProactive risk mitigation and complianceMonitoring the effectiveness of the campaigns, codes of practice and proactive measures which have been put in place to support the Business Management SystemSuitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12 or equivalentNational Diploma in Safety / Risk Management or equivalent at NQF Level 6 [advantageous]COMSOC 1 & 2Investigation / Tap Root training (preferred)Audit certification for ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001Valid EB driver's licenceProficient in MS Office [Word, Excel]Good English verbal and written communication skillsSuitable candidates must have the following work experience: At least 3 years' experience in a similar role in the mining sectorAbility to conduct investigations and record findingsExperience in relevant safety principles and systemsShaft experience will be advantageousAll appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
