Safety, Health, Environment, And Risk (Sher) Manager

We act for a leading manufacturing company in the Pietermaritzburg area, currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SHER Manager to lead and manage their organization's safety, health, environmental, and risk management programs.
The preferred candidate will have the responsibility of creating, executing, and supervising policies and protocols to guarantee adherence to regulatory standards and optimal practices within the industry.
Key Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.5+ years of experience as a SHER Manager or in a similar role.Professional certification in safety management is advantageous. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety, health, environmental, and risk management policies and procedures.Ensure policies are aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.Monitor and enforce compliance with local, provincial, and national safety and environmental regulations.Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address non-compliance issues.Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.Implement measures to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental impact.Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness of safety, health, and environmental issues.Lead investigations into safety incidents, accidents, and environmental spills.Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address potential workplace emergencies.Prepare and submit regulatory reports related to safety, health, and environmental performance.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
