Job PurposeThe Safety Engineer and Consultant for hydrogen technologies will work with the project team on managing and meeting the safety targets.You will ideally hold experience of working on hydrogen-related projects. You will have strong interpersonal skills as you will be required to influence and develop long-lasting relationships. You must have exceptional knowledge with regards to South African Regulations, Health and Safety Standards, guidance and undertake lead auditor training.Responsibility and Authority (incl. applicable Budget Responsibility)Transferring knowledge of the South African Laws and Regulations into hydrogen-specific projects (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety ActPressure Equipment RegulationDesign Review / Technical Due DiligencePreparation of HAZOP analysisDevelop Process Flow Diagram (PFDs) and Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs) being able to explain selected flow configurationReview of Commissioning Testing PlansPreparation of Guidelines / zone classificationCalculation of equipment sizes including vessels, columns, heat exchanger requirements, and packaged equipment specificationsAttendance and input at major reviews such a PFD/P&ID reviews, HAZOPs, and 3D model reviews.
