Renal Registered Nurse

A vacancy exists for a Renal Registered Nurse based at RenalPro Dialysis Centre, Malvern Durban, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic and optimal quality nursing care to renal patients in order to maximize a positive outcome for the patient in line with Company and medical strategic objectives.Critical OutputsTo Provide Quality Patient Care By:Providing quality basic and specialized nursing care.Continual communication with the patient and family regarding the patient's condition.Administering medication in accordance with ethical and legal frameworks.Reviewing and complying with internal policies and protocols.Ensuring quality management systems and initiatives are conducted according to the unit specification.Advocating for the patient by motivating acuity to case management and notifying the doctor of any limitations.SkillsInteracting and communicating with a multi-disciplinary team.Providing training and development to ensure personal and professional growth.Ensuring the Renal team works according to the scope of practice to ensure the correct skills mix is utilized.Conducting in-service orientation on doctor-specific preferences.Executing doctor's requests and prescriptions.Assisting multi-disciplinary team members with the execution of their duties.Equipment FunctioningEnsuring the effective functioning of equipment and instrumentation by:Checking that equipment and instrumentation are in working condition daily and reporting any defaults to the unit manager and clinical engineer.Effective record keeping by ensuring records are accurately completed and stored in accordance with legal and ethical requirements.RequirementsRelevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.Current registration with SANC 2024.Must be willing to fulfill a role in the unit according to the flexi-hours system.Own vehicle with a valid license.CompetenciesProblem-solving, analysis, and judgment.Resilience.Engaging.Verbal & written communication and presentation.Organizational awareness.Drive & energy.Excellence orientation.Ethical behavior.Building relationships.Customer responsiveness.Teamwork.Strong interpersonal skills.Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
