Regional Cost Accountant - Gauteng

We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our operational and finance department. You’ll be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing reporting.
You should possess excellent analytical skills along with the ability to combine different data and calculate and measure cost effectiveness. Our ideal candidate should also be able to create detailed reports that present cost-effective solutions for the regional branches that you would be responsible for.
Ultimately, you should build updated databases and manage cost information to maximize profitability for our company.
Responsibilities
Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database
Construct data accumulation systems
Plan and record variable costs
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
Prepare budgeting reports
Analyze and report profit margins
Assisting in month-end and year-end closing
Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions

Requirements and skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
1-2 years of experience in cost accounting or similar role
Strong technical abilities in financial reporting, analysis, and management, including proficiency in accounting software and Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Experience with financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting
Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Will require travelling between different branches
