The Royal Portfolio's head office team is seeking a talented and dynamic Public Relations Manager from within in the Hospitality industry, to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for luxury hospitality, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in the role, and a love of writing. This individual will be responsible for executing strategic PR initiatives to enhance the reputation and visibility of our group.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement comprehensive PR campaigns to promote the hotel group's brand image, key messages, and unique offerings.Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers and key stakeholders to secure positive press coverage and media placements.Create compelling press releases, media kits and other written materials to communicate key announcements, events and initiatives.Co-ordinate press visits, media events and fam trips to showcase our properties and cultivate positive relationships with media representatives.Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing regular reports and insights to senior management to inform PR strategy and decision-making.Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales and Events teams to align PR efforts with overall business objectives and promotional activities.Serve as a Brand Ambassador and spokesperson for The Royal Portfolio, representing our values and standards in all communications and interactions.Respond promptly and professionally to media inquiries, interview requests and crisis communications situations as needed, including the drafting of crisis holding statements and the distribution thereof to relevant stakeholders.Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging trends and innovative PR techniques to continuously enhance the effectiveness of our PR efforts.Maintain effective media exposure globally through the assistance of our appointed PR agencies.Work alongside Social Media Co-ordinator and Wildlife Content Creator to ensure content across all social media platforms aligns with PR Strategy and Content Calendar. REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.5+ years of experience in Public Relations, preferably within the hospitality or luxury lifestyle industry.Proven track record of successfully executing PR campaigns and securing exceptional, high profile media coverage.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.Strong existing relationships with local and/ or international media contacts.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with media contacts and stakeholders.Creative thinking and strategic mindset, with the ability to develop innovative PR initiatives.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and PR software/ tools.Experience managing social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) for business purposes.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.Flexibility to travel occasionally and work outside of standard business hours as needed.It is important that the candidate is able to work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Royal Portfolio.South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.
