About the role A Public Relations (PR) position involves managing the image and reputation of an organization or individual through strategic communication.
PR professionals create and maintain a positive public perception by working with the media, handling crisis communication, writing press releases, and managing relationships with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities Media Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers; pitching stories and securing media coverage. Content Creation: Writing press releases, speeches, articles, social media content, and other materials that communicate key messages. Crisis Management: Developing and executing strategies to manage public relations crises, including managing media responses and ensuring consistent messaging. Brand Strategy: Collaborating with marketing and other teams to align public messaging with the brands goals and objectives. Event Planning: Organizing press conferences, product launches, and other events to generate media coverage and engage with stakeholders. Social Media Management: Overseeing the organizations social media presence, creating content, and responding to public inquiries or concerns. Monitoring Public Opinion: Tracking media coverage, public sentiment, and industry trends to adjust PR strategies as needed. Requirements A degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related fields.Must not have taken part in the YES Program before.South African unemployed youth aged between 18 and 34.
