Project Planner

A project planner is a function within the chain towards a delivery from supply chain. He/she will answer all related questions towards meeting delivery dates within a certain delivery towards a demand. He/she will support manufacturing in having a constant flow of material and information to ensure predictable delivery and a smooth logistical flow in and out of SGD. Interaction with different stakeholders is essential to achieve delivery and to inform them about obstacles and improvements.Your roleSingle point of contact towards PMO office and responsible for single or multiple customer orders depending on workload. Also responsible for repair planning, execution, and coordination within pre-defined products.Make suggestions for provisions to handle TAT on repairs, make financial and resource calculations towards SGD 90 days TAT, and provide suggestions.Work shall be defined on SOW approved by the responsible receiver, with the requirements of time-cost-performance and the priority between them if needed. Delegation of authority is required.Support procurement in delivering buying forecasts on projects/prospects within areas of responsibility.Collect all related information and have a visible plan to meet a production order (which can consist of multiple LRU, SRU, SW, test equipment, and resources).Interact and hold meetings with the correct stakeholders to meet delivery dates as frequently as needed to share and gather information about the delivery.Engage with Finance and stakeholders on placing WBS and parts on Customer orders.Chairman and responsible for calling (PWO) (DWO) (RWO) order kick-off together with stakeholders. Responsible for the MOM and action follow-up related to the deliveries of concern, handing over issues outside the deliveries to the responsible line manager within different disciplines.When planning a start of production/prototype, consider yield, scrap, or rework on certain components and parts. Ensure the information is on the BOM or planning part, customer order, and take warranty repairs into account.Collect and share information proactively working with airway bills, import/export licenses, and end-user certificates together with responsible roles in the legal and export control department.The project planner reports to the Project Manager/Contract Responsible/Contract Owner/Capex Responsible and is allocated through node number on a yearly budget.Shall communicate with all disciplines within the Supply Chain to reach milestones. When priorities between different customers occur, the role shall coordinate within project planning and production planning to meet company milestones. Escalate to PMO when targets cannot be met and seek further instructions.Coordinate production planner towards un-reserving and reserving LRU's on different projects or customer orders. Keep track of different configurations and report changes to production planners.Look after the entire chain towards delivery and act proactively. Make improvement suggestions to the organization to develop and improve execution.Can be part of WB process, bidding process, and costing process to secure delivery success and share experiences.Responsible for planning prestart and initiating LLI Long Lead Items order to meet demand together with the production planner.Responsible for S&OP prognosis towards S&OP manager.Delivery deadline driven with customer focus.Maintain inventory of job materials/consumables and floor stock.Your profileRequired knowledge:ERP/MRP/PDM knowledge.Possess knowledge of production planning and MRP, clearly understand the process of loading and changing the MPS, along with the impact on MRP and Material planners.Clear understanding of material liability agreements that are contractually in place.Knowledge of Supply Chain processes and the impact of schedule changes.Advanced computer skills, with an emphasis on spreadsheet software packages.Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management.Organizational and problem-solving skills required.Proven experience with complex planning, forecasting, and product lifecycle programs.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and Supply Chain Management.Practical ExperienceMust be able to understand Supply Chain and Inventory principles and their application.Person Specification:Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and people skills.Ability to effectively and professionally work under pressure in a team-oriented environment with frequent changes in deadlines and priorities.Team player, who can work well across business operations and develop strong business teams.Demonstrate ability to influence teams and programs regarding quality, productivity, and/or customer service.Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence decisions.Embodies the Saab values of Drive, Trust, Expertise, and Dedication.Strong project management skills and problem-solving.Process Flow and Manufacturing Processes knowledge.Ability to work well under pressure.Qualification:An applicable tertiary qualification in Operations Management and/or Production Planning or equivalent APICS certification/qualification with Supply Chain experience.What you will be a part ofSGD has reinforced its position as a leading South African defence and security company, bringing capabilities including electronic warfare systems, sensor technology, training systems, avionics, security, and support solutions to the African and international markets.
