Production Shift ForemanMy client based in Durban is urgently seeking a suitably qualified persons for the position of Production Foreman - Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the management and performance of a shift in the Process Department - Rawhouse.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:• Actively participate in and support an inclusive and team orientated service to the Mill.• Understanding of relevant labour legislation, Company policies and procedures.• Plan, organize and control all resources at one's disposal to achieve work objectives.• Manage the performance of team members in order to achieve work objectives.• Compile, control, review and present budgets.• Understand and contribute to the business beyond own functional area.• Build positive customer relationships with all stakeholders of the process i.e.
Engineering and Administrative teams.• Ensuring that raw sugar is produced according to customer specifications.• Understanding of socio-political trends and cultural diversity.• Deal with the impact on the running of the department.• Implement, support and guide shop floor continuous improvement processes.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• Matric, preferably with Maths and Science.• Tertiary qualification will be advantageous.• Courses on laboratory modules, evaporators, clarification and pan boiling will be an advantage.• Minimum 5 years experience in a sugar processing environment, of which minimum of 3 years were in aprocess supervisory role.• Computer literate, with ability to use Microsoft Office, PI historian, Maximo, Kronos and Apex system and online training modules.• Knowledge of raw sugar milling.• Knowledge of OHSACT, NEMA, ISO 9001.2000 and HACCP food safety management system.• Knowledge of laboratory operations will be an advantage.• Key culture attributes: Demonstrates the importance of safety, quality and teamwork; effectively leads and communicates because our people matter.
